Our eleven bedroom hotel is a wonderfully situated, family run hotel, within half a mile of one of  the great achievements of Victorian engineering, spectacular scenery and a fabulous area for outdoor enthusiasts. We offer good quality accommodation, excellent home-cooked food, an interesting wine list, a warm local atmosphere in our friendly bar, with real ales and  a variety of malt whiskies. It is the perfect base from which to explore the breath-taking scenery and fantastic wildlife of Mid-Wales,  often described as 'Wales' best kept secret'.

Our newest room is a ground floor family room suitable for a disabled person. It has dedicated parking outside the room and its own entrance on the side of the building but no internal access to the hotel.

Local photographer Ian Nicholson is still exhibiting his outstanding landscape photography at the hotel. Visit Ian's site for information on photography courses and sale of work.

The valleys and Victorian dams are a spectacular mixture of man-made architecture and natural beauty - located in one of the few places in Britain where it is still possible to roam a wild landscape all day in virtual solitude. This is a paradise for walking, pony trekking, watching birds, fishing, photography and mountain biking. Rhayader, a thriving market town, is approximately two miles away and offers a variety of shops, pubs, cafes, a recreational centre and an arts venue. The Elan Valley Visitor Centre is within comfortable walking distance and hosts an exhibition detailing the construction of the Dams

COACH PARTIES are welcome. Large groups can be accommodated in neighbouring guesthouses and hotels and re-group at the hotel for meals. Day visitors can enjoy bar meals or specially prepared buffets, lunches and afternoon teas, all by prior arrangement. We can cater for over 100 people. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

The hotel is also only a short drive away from the Royal Welsh Show or Hay Festival.
